As we close out our year-long 65th Anniversary celebration of 1959, the greatest year in Jazz, what better way to finish than with Kind of Blue, one of the most beloved Jazz albums of all time. Even better, you'll get to hear a "brand new" 1959 album, Birth of the Blue from Analogue Productions
We'll be playing the UHQR version of the famous recording featuring Davis’ legendary sextet - John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb. We'll also be playing Birth of the Blue, recorded by the same sextet just 2 weeks prior to the Kind of Blue sessions, for the first time lovingly remastered and issued as a "new" release.
We'll round out the evening with excerpts from their legendary Newport 58 appearance, a fitting tribute to the anniversary of the seminal work created by this Jazz supergroup.
