This show will be free for students of all ages, teachers, and attendees 65+.

Listyn KC host Kelsyn Rooks is joined by four-time GRAMMY® Award winning producer Cheryl Pawelski and five-time GRAMMY® Award winning engineer Michael Graves.  They will present highlights from this amazing release which brings together 146 demos from the legendary Stax Records. Including 140 recordings that are previously unreleased, this collection combines both songwriter demos of some of music’s biggest songs with full blown arrangements of never released tracks.

Cheryl and Michael will take us through the 15+ year process of bringing this collection to life, as well as share stories and insights from their lives in the music industry. All music for this event will be played on our amazing Listyn KC sound system, brought in just for the show!  Doors open at 12:30 pm. This show benefits the Center For Recorded Music, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization bringing to life a new world-class cultural center and music education facility in Kansas City. We have free tickets for students of all ages, teachers, and 65+ that includes food and drinks, but no alcohol.  For everyone else tickets are available for $15 including Non-Alcoholic Beverages or $35 which includes Food, beverages, and Alcoholic Beverages (21+ for Alcohol, ID required).  Food selection for this show will include a selection of Pizza, Hors d'oeuvres, "heavy" appetizers, and fruit (vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options will be available).Please bring cash for tipping bartending staff as credit cards cannot be accepted.  UMKC Catering requires us to have a final food order prior to the show, so the Snack and Beverage tickets will only be on sale until the Thursday March 21st.  We are sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate any additional food requests once ticket sales are closed.
